This policy explains the personal information MicRiffCast collects, why it is collected, how it is used, and the choices available to applicants, Hosts, guests, and listeners.
1. Information collected
- name, email address, organization, podcast details, application responses, and policy consent records;
- Host profile information, account identifiers, login and security records;
- podcast schedules, workspace notes, uploaded media, artwork, recordings, transcripts, captions, and production logs;
- participant display names, roles, avatars, chat or room activity, and technical connection information;
- support requests, deletion requests, and communications with MicRiffCast.
2. Why information is used
- to review Host applications and manage accounts;
- to schedule, operate, record, process, store, and deliver podcast productions;
- to maintain security, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and protect the service;
- to respond to requests, provide support, and send necessary service communications;
- to meet legal, safety, reporting, preservation, and record-keeping obligations.
3. Consent and participant responsibility
Applicants provide express consent when they accept the policies and submit the Host application. Hosts are responsible for ensuring that guests, listeners, and other participants receive appropriate notice and provide any consent required for recording and later publication.
4. Sharing and service providers
Information may be processed by infrastructure, email, storage, networking, security, transcription, or other service providers used to operate MicRiffCast. Information is not sold. It may be disclosed where required by law, necessary to protect a person or the service, or connected with investigation of suspected illegal activity.
5. Storage, retention, and security
Information may be stored in Canada or in other locations used by MicRiffCast's service providers. Application and account records may be retained for administrative, security, legal, and audit purposes. MicRiffCast uses administrative, technical, and access-control measures intended to protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
6. Access, correction, and deletion requests
You may request access to or correction of personal information associated with you, subject to legal and operational limits. Some information may need to be retained for security, legal compliance, backups, dispute resolution, or investigation.
7. Updates and contact
This policy may be updated as MicRiffCast evolves. Material changes will be identified by a new effective date or version and may require renewed consent. Privacy questions may be submitted through the contact information published on micriffcast.com or supplied in Host communications.
